APRIL is STD AWARENESS MONTH- STD PREVENTION IS A PART OF HIV PREVENTION

The link between STDs and HIV is real.

By educating yourself on ways to lower your risk, you can take action to protect your health.

STD and HIV testing is a critical step in preventing the spread of disease.

If you have/had STDs, such as:
  •  gonorrhea,  herpes, and syphilis, you  are more likely to get HIV compared to people who are STD-free, and, the same behaviors that put you at risk for acquiring these STDs can put you at risk for getting HIV.
.
Many STDs are treatable and most can be cured..

  • All adults and adolescents from ages 13 to 64 should be tested at least once for HIV.
  • Anyone who has unsafe sex or shares injection drug equipment should get tested for HIV at least once a year.

See your Doctor/Healthcare Provider; Get Tested!!! (Knowing your STD and HIV status is a critical step in stopping the spread of STDs and HIV.)

HIV Awareness should really be prioritized. This will actually help a lot of people to experience something that they will surely regret in the future. I have heard a lot of things about this and I must say that I do admire those people behind the programs that educate people about HIV. I just hope that we will take every thing that they say seriously because this will help save life of course. If I can just volunteer on these kind of activities, I will surely participate because I want to become an instrument for some change.
